Pete Goergen

A native of Richmond, VA, Peter Goergen graduated with honors from the University of Virginia (B.A., English 2007). Upon graduation, Mr. Goergen joined the University of Virginia Athletics Foundation as an Annual Giving Assistant, a newly created position. After six months, the Foundation promoted Mr. Goergen to Assistant Director, where he was responsible for fundraising in Virginia, North Carolina, & South Carolina, as well as for the University’s women’s basketball, field hockey, track & cross country teams.

Mr. Goergen left the Foundation to join Octagon Capital Partners as an Associate in August 2009. He is responsible for new business development including: sourcing potential OCP purchases, analyzing prospective ventures & markets, recruiting commercial tenants, and determining financing solutions for OCP projects. Mr. Goergen assists in the creation of OCP marketing materials and upkeep of the company website.

Mr. Goergen is also a founding member of Virginia Tax Credit Partners, a vehicle that links investors with developers seeking to sell Virginia State Historic Tax Credits. In 2009, Virginia Tax Credit Partners purchased just over $6 million of state historic credits.
